Terms of Use
Last updated July 2026
The English version of this document is the primary and authoritative version. Translations are provided for convenience; if there is any conflict between a translation and the English version, the English version prevails.
These terms are an agreement between you and Xumirah, the operator of xumirah.com and the Xumirah application (together, the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
The Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Subscription and Billing Policy, and the Disclosures form part of these terms.
1. What Xumirah is, and what it is not
Xumirah screens publicly listed companies, funds, and other assets against Shariah and values-based criteria, explains the result, and gives you tools to research and track a portfolio of names that pass your rules. Everything on the service is information, provided to help you make your own decisions.
Xumirah does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or religious advice. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker-dealer, or investment manager. We do not execute trades, hold your money, or custody your assets. Nothing on the service is a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security, or a statement that any investment is suitable for you.
2. Shariah screening
Compliance screening applies recognised scholarly standards consistently, and every verdict shows its reasoning and evidence. A verdict is the output of a documented methodology. It is not a fatwa, and it is not a religious ruling on your personal circumstances. Scholars differ, and a result shown as compliant under one standard may not satisfy every interpretation. Treat verdicts as a starting point and confirm with your own scholar before relying on any result. Purification and Zakat figures are estimates produced by the same methodology and carry the same caveat.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate details, to keep your sign-in method (your email inbox or Google account) secure, and to tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. One account per person; accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
4. Free and paid plans
The free plan includes unlimited compliance verdicts and a monthly allowance of full analyses (the reasoning, ratios, evidence, purification figures, and pricing behind a verdict). Once you reach the allowance, verdicts keep working and full analyses unlock again the following month, or immediately with a Pro subscription. The current allowance is always shown in your settings, and we may adjust it over time.
Pro is a paid subscription. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are covered in the Subscription and Billing Policy.
5. Acceptable use
The service is for your personal, non-commercial use through the interfaces we provide. You agree not to:
- access the service by any automated means, including scrapers, crawlers, bots, or scripts;
- systematically collect, copy, extract, or download screening results, financial ratios, purification figures, evidence records, or any other data from the service, whether in bulk or gradually over time;
- reproduce, redistribute, sell, or make our data available to any third party, or use it to build, train, or improve any product, dataset, or model, including a competing service;
- circumvent, disable, or probe any rate limit, quota, authentication step, or other technical protection measure;
- share account credentials, or create accounts by automated means or under false details;
- use the service in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in any of the above and pursue all available legal remedies. Screening data served to your account may carry account-specific markers; if our data is republished, those markers identify the account that extracted it.
6. Our content and data
The service's databases, screening results, evidence compilations, written analyses, designs, and software are owned by Xumirah or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and database laws and by these terms. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to view and use the service for your personal purposes. Viewing data within the service gives you no right to extract or reuse it outside the service.
Anything you store in the service (your rules, portfolios, watchlists, and holdings) remains yours. You grant us the limited right to process it in order to run the service for you.
7. Third-party data and services
Screening draws on market data, filings, and other information from third-party providers and public sources. That information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and results can change as a company's financials or activities change. Prices shown are indicative and may not reflect the price available at your broker. The service may link to external sites we do not control and are not responsible for.
8. Availability and changes to the service
Xumirah is an early-stage product and it evolves quickly. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue parts of the service, at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service at any time and can delete your account from settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5, 6, 10, and 11) survive it.
10. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that screening results, figures, verdicts, or backtests are accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Illustrative figures in demos are not real returns.
11. Limitation of liability
You make your own investment decisions and you bear their results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Xumirah and the people who build it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or your reliance on its information, including investment losses. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Indemnity
If your breach of these terms causes a third party to bring a claim against Xumirah, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs we incur as a result.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice, for example by email or a notice in the product, before it takes effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.
14. General
These terms, together with the policies they incorporate, are the entire agreement between you and Xumirah about the service. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation or transfer of the service, and will tell you if we do.
15. Contact
