Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser; sites also use similar browser storage such as localStorage. Xumirah uses very few of them. Essential ones make sign-in work. Analytics and marketing ones are set only if you accept them, and declining them changes nothing about how the service works.
1. Essential cookies and storage (always on)
These are required for the service to function, so they do not need consent:
- pp_session (cookie). Keeps you signed in after you authenticate. It is cryptographically signed, readable only by our servers, and is removed when you sign out or it expires.
- xum-consent (localStorage). Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every visit.
- Preference storage (localStorage). Settings such as your language stay on your device so the site loads the way you left it.
2. Analytics and marketing cookies (only with your consent)
If you accept them in the consent banner, we load two third-party tools. Until you accept, neither loads and no data is sent to either.
- Google Analytics (cookies beginning _ga). Tells us how people find Xumirah and which pages they visit, in aggregate, so we can improve the product.
- Meta Pixel (cookie _fbp). Measures whether our advertising works, so we spend less on ads that do not.
Both providers set and read their own cookies and process data under their own policies once loaded. We do not use these tools to build individual profiles, and we do not sell the data they collect.
3. Your choice
Your current setting is shown below, and you can change it at any time. Declining keeps every feature working; the only difference is that we learn less about how visitors find us.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential cookie means sign-in cannot work, but the public pages remain fully usable.
4. Changes and contact
If we add or remove cookies, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Email hello@xumirah.com or see the Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data generally.
